ABOUT QMUN
The Selaqui International School Modern United Nations Conference is among one of the very few Junior MUN conferences. Since its inaugural edition, in 2015, Selaqui International School Modern United Nations Society has hosted an absorbing, creative, and highly engrossing conference annually, each one leaving a mark on society. QMUN has grown to one of the milestone in MUNning callender of the schools all around the country. QMUN has evolved and developed its event by introducing new committees, creating unique crises situations and setting unorthodox agendas to challenge the delegates, who will be our leaders for the world, tomorrow.

WELCOME NOTE FROM SECRETARY GENERAL :
It is my pleasure to welcome all you budding delegates to the 5th edition of SelaQui International School’s signature MUN conference-QMUN.
One of the country’s premiere Junior MUNs, QMUN has grown from strength to strength in a short span of time. Since its inception, QMUN has had a special place for everyone in SelaQui, promoting negotiation, diplomacy and collaboration.
Seeing the current state of the world, there has probably never been a greater need to simulate the world’s foremost diplomatic organization- The United Nations. With hostile ideals progressively plunging the world into anarchy, the people of the world must rally as one if we hope to extract ourselves from the precipice.
In this grand and often daunting scheme of things, one can make the mistake of neglecting the importance of the individual. This notion of reluctance - in various forms- acts as a catalyst for a myriad of issues that plague us. A delegate, therefore, has to shoulder enormous responsibility while evaluating events and formulating strategies to deal with their ramifications.
With QMUN’19, we hope to provide young delegates a glimpse of what it takes to strategise and coordinate at a global level while developing intrinsic skills of diplomacy and negotiation.
Looking forward to welcoming you,
SECRETARY GENERAL

WELCOME NOTE FROM PRESIDENT :
Dear Delegates,
As the President of QMUN ’19, I am delighted to welcome you for the 5th edition of the SelaQui International School Model United Nations (QMUN).
I am Dhruv Banerjee and I am in class 12th. I am also the School Captain. I have been to various MUN’s and love to take part in debates and other such events. I like to play tennis, volleyball and basketball and am also the school tennis captain. I am into adventure activities and have gone to the Everest Base Camp.
As we are progressing forward, modernization and mechanization has engulfed the entire landscape. Decisions have to be taken which have the power to decide the fate of many nations. At the end, it is the younger generation which will join the dots and complete the picture. It is important that each and every individual gets a brief idea about the various world recognized organizations such as the United Nations. Discussions and debates are one way to get the best decision and it should be a priority to be a part of such interactive sessions.
Unite, Empower, Transform. The theme for QMUN 19 in itself speaks volumes. It is time we stand up and speak about the various issues that persist in the present. It is you who has the ability to transform the rationality of thoughts. It is impossible to change the past but possible to change the future. Be the change or let the world change you.
QMUN provides a platform for delegates to get to know how MUN’s are conducted and how to go about the various proceedings involved in it. It is a perfect floor for delegates who are doing a MUN for the first time. It provides an enriching experience and is a great way to learn about the MUN culture.
I hope that all the delegates have gone through the background guides and have researched about the agendas of their respective committees. All delegates should be well aware of their foreign policies/party’s stand (Lok Sabha). Wishing everyone the very best and hope that you have a wonderful time in the coming QMUN. I will be looking forward to meet you. Remember, “United we stand, divided we fall.”
Regards,
The President,
Dhruv Banerjee.
